After setting a Louisiana High School record with 8,603 rushing yards while at Patterson High School, Kenny Hilliard was rated as a four-star recruit and the nation’s ninth-best running back, according to Rivals.com.

As a true freshman, Hilliard rushed for eight touchdowns and scored a career-high, three touchdowns in the SEC Championship Game against the University of Georgia. While a freshman, he was recognized as SEC Freshman of the Week with 19 carries and 102 yds against the University of Arkansas and was named to the 2011 SEC Coaches’ All-Freshman Team. Hilliard continued his college career by averaging 5.7 yards per carry on 82 attempts his sophomore season. While a sophomore, he became the first LSU running back to rush for two touchdowns in each of the first three games of the season since Charles Alexander in 1978.
